Scam, Scam, The Dirty Young Man!

It is quite incredible how these despicable criminals have become so sophisticated in their methods attempting to suck money out of innocent people's pockets, plunder their bank accounts, and cause misery and desperation.

As many of my avid readers know, I am an author, not Stephen King, not J.K. Rowling, but not a bad one. I write because it is my passion and hobby I needed one after retirement, and it keeps me from boredom, getting on my wife's nerves, or getting drunk.

I have a traditional publisher, I pitch my work out on social-media sites in the hope that people will be interested in my work, and TBH, there are a few, and not just friends and family, bless them for their wonderful support. Truth is, I am one of the millions of authors who have achieved a reasonable status in the disturbing world of global publishing.

Even possessing this less well known status it still manages to attract scumbags called, SCAMMERS! They sit in tiny rooms all over the planet, not only Africa, groups of them with laptops and smartphones at their fingertips wading through the internet searching for victims with their gang-bosses looking over them forcing them to work day and night in the infamous, global 'numbers game' until they find innocent authors striving to become best-sellers, have their books filmed, and any other 'Stairway to Publishing Heaven' on offer!

It is obvious, many budding authors fall for the scam blinded by their vanity and fantasy. After being phished and caught in the networks of criminals, they bleed financially, and their illusions of becoming famous are shattered after their bank accounts have been plundered.

I once fell for such a scam; my wife is a fab artist and on X-Twitter, a so-called NY art dealer appeared out of his filthy cave, offered to turn my wife's art into NFT's and make $millions. Yes, I believed this bastard, in fact, there were two. I went along with their promises, but luckily my bank alerted me and stopped any further transactions; it was my wake-up call!! We lost a 1000 Euros, my wife was bitterly angry, called me a complete dumb arse, but there was no further damage.

Every single day I receive fake, phishing E Mails on Gmail from these scamming scumbags! I bin them, report them, and never in a million years would I divulge anything financial over Gmail or social-media. I have been 'burnt' once, and never again.

This is my advice to authors and artists, or anybody who receives devious telephone calls or E Mails demanding money; do not believe that major companies, publishers, art-galleries will offer you the world, or your grandchildren are in a dire financial quagmire, 99% are all FAKE!!

Ignore dubious telephone calls, do not pick up the phone and answer the bastards, they will have you by the 'balls'. And do not reply to dubious E Mails, especially on Gmail from CEO's or execs from major publishing companies demanding up-front payments for their services, they are FAKE and now written by AI robots (that is how sophisticated they have become!).

Do your research, examine all contacts, telephone or Email, and never divulge your bank details or send money with credit cards.
