Now to begin with; this blog can be taken both ways; taking the pee, or seriously! I'll leave that to the readers, either way it is utmost sad, very sad. However, I will attempt to create a funny side too, if possible!
As the world knows corruption is rife in most African nations, their politicians, their leaders, even sadly enough, those who are working for charity organisations! The only nation which I am aware of not inflicted with corruption is Namibia! Maybe there are more, please let me know? But there are not many!
Billions and billions of $dollars have been donated to African nations over the years and much of that money lands in the palaces, pockets, mansions, of those people running and leading those nations. I could list a host of nations starting with Ethiopia (where charity finance ends up in the form of weapons!) to Uganda, to Kenya, Central Africa, South Africa, Zimbabwe, plus many more (too many to mention).
OK, I can write until the 'cows come home' about different ways that leaders and politicians syphon off millions of $bucks to finance their mega-affluent lifestyles compared to those who elected them living in wretchedness, poverty, lack of fresh water, hygienic and medical facilities! In fact, utter misery! But somehow they get on with their lives apart from the ones desperate to reach Europe in the hope of financing their families back in their homelands (with many dying on the way).
So, enough misery, let's digest the latest form of corruption, perpetrated by Ugandan ministers, and divulge to the world (or my 10 dedicated readers) what their latest scam is! Nicking steel roofing sheets from their people who need them to build steel huts, or provide roofs over their heads!
Yes people, steel roof sheets! Not copper, not brass, not lead, just simple steel! Now one must ask oneself what the hell do these Ugandan corrupt politicians want with these metal sheets??
Several reasons here:
A) Maybe they want to build steel sheds in their designer back gardens so they can stash their stolen dosh away from the public eye!
B) Maybe they want to flog it to steel dealers hoping sell it to boat builders for building steel boats instead of rotting wood versions to help those desperate to leave their awful existence in Africa and, not drown on the way! (Utmost charitable gesture)
C) Maybe they will flog it to Ugandan entrepreneurs in the automobile business to build Ugandan cars which would be much cheaper than Mercedes, Rolls Royces, Bentley's, or BMW's imported solely for the rich and famous in their country!
D) Maybe, if they show their charitable side (if ever), they flog it to public convenience builders to build loos all over the nation to stop people, without any form of hygienic facilities, crapping in public and, in already polluted streams and rivers!
E) Maybe they want to build 10 metre-high steel walls around their luxury mansions so nobody can peep into their gardens when they are having cheese and wine parties with Boris Johnson and his entourage; post covid!
F) Maybe, they are just plain f'ing GREEDY!
The only species that really does not benefit from nicked steel roof sheets are politicians cats, mainly the expensive pedigree version, because sitting on a hot-steel (tin)-roof on a shed in the back garden of the rich and famous aint no pleasure / LOL!
I also heard through the charity 'grape-vine' that garbage bins donated to major African cities are being confiscated by gangs, financed by politicians, brought to their private warehouses, re-labelled, and sent back to Europe, and the US, as recycled products exclusively 'Made in Africa' solely from discarded upcycled/recycled materials to rid the garbage, plastic filled, environmental situation which covers most African cities like a 'Sword of Damocles' hanging over polar bears heads in Antarctica!
OK, so here we see the perfect example of two residential areas in Uganda (could be on the other side of the moon too!) On one side steel roofs collapsing and being plugged with anything possible! On the other side of the field, luxury houses with brand-new steel roofs provided by corrupt politicians who sell their 'nicked' steel roof sheets to reputable roofing companies for mega-bucks!
(If it wasn't so sad I'd laugh all the way to my next African-Safari-holiday, but I don't have the 'brass' to finance it!)
